1953 Studebaker Transtar V8 Step Side Pick Up I’ve always wanted an early American step side truck, but most are pretty ugly and in a sorry state of repair, so when this little beauty came up on eBay, I just couldn’t resist it. For once I viewed before bidding, and I’m glad I did, because the sellers description didn’t do it any favours. It does need work, and mechanically it does have a few problems, but structurally it is sound. For those that don’t know, it is the same age as me, and in better condition I shouldn’t wonder. Expect to see this at car shows and Castle Combe next year, towing the race car and also on the parade laps. Do you like the new bed cover we made to keep our tools dry? It is far more practical with the lid on. The auto box is away being rebuilt and it will be ready Friday. I don’t know which Friday as we have already been waiting 9 months so far.
